Part I of Winter Art Tag

.Melancholy.

Shadows Welcome

the sun won't set fast enough
that gentle swell of patient darkness
seems miles
and oceans
and lifetimes away
with it's refuge
hiding the arid
and colorless landscape
that makes your eyes ache
and the blood crawl slowly
through your veins

when the moon finally glows
and a dim peace settles in
your world becomes small
and friendly
in a foolish way
like an impenetrable fortress made
from fuzzy cotton blankets
and dining room chairs

and inside you are safe
and you understand everything
and you seal up all the gaps
to keep the light
and the cold air out

The color pallete of this piece is outstanding. The black trees and branches blend into the bottom portion, making it look almost like a dark mist is spreading over the area. Super cool.
Thank you so much for an ... ACTUAL critique. Thanks so much, i really appreciate it.
Glad you like it. I was going in the colors for the dark gloomyness of the peice, along with the silloutes of the trees. Wonderful interpretation. You truly are an artist.

you know how hard it can be to keep
believing in me when everything and
everyone becomes my enemy...

I like this a lot, too.

To college! I can't wait! What do you think we'll find when we get there?

Hmm... That the students are shockingly ignorant, the professors self-centered and corrupt, and the entire system geared soley to the pursuit of funding?
